Top eBay.com and eBay.co.uk sellers are now on Marketplace Pulse

In an announcement by Amazon earlier this month, it was revealed that Fulfillment by Amazon shipped more than 1 billion products for sellers worldwide. Furthermore, sellers using the FBA service grew more than 50 percent year-over-year. Amazon did not disclose the growth rate of other sellers, but we can only assume that overall FBA sellers do better than merchant fulfilled ones. Having access to Prime customers is a big push.

While November was somewhat of a slow month for a lot of retailers in the USA, December finished the year very strong. Christmas continues to be most important month of the year and this year was no different. Amazon Marketplace Sellers Increase Sales by 22% in November 2015

Amazon Marketplace sellers increased sales on average by 22% in November. This is higher than the 15% baseline, as ChannelAdvisor reports. November is a good indicator on how well December, the most important month of the yearly retail cycle, is going to look like. Thus we expect December to be as strong if not stronger.

Fastest Growing Amazon.com Sellers, November 2015 Report

November had two of the largest retail days of the year - Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Various sources expect total volume to grow by at least 20%. While brick and mortar retail sales are shrinking, online ecommerce is growing at a steady pace. Compared to October, November wasn't a fast growing month. Many sellers managed to increase their sales, but overall many more had lost their pace. We think this has to do with depleted inventory after Halloween, which many sellers focused on.

Fastest Growing Amazon.com Sellers, October 2015 Report

October had one of the most celebrated holidays of the year - Halloween. As the days got closer to October 31st, sales for costumes and other party merchandize skyrocketed. We used feedback as a way to estimate how much sales has the seller been able to gain. But instead of looking at what everyones' feedback was at the end of the month, we calculated the change in feedback throughout the month. The table below is top 100 sellers ranked by the growth rate. As you can see, most of the sellers who have been able to take advantage of the Halloween increased their sales drastically.

Amazon Opens a Handmade Marketplace

On Thursday Amazon opened a stricly handcrafted-goods marketplace. Handmade at Amazon is their first venture into competing with the likes of Etsy at selling handmade products. Etsy has been able to grow their yearly sales to $2 billion, compared to $75 billion of Amazon, so it is no surprise that Amazon wants to be in the game as well.
