Fastest Growing Amazon.com Sellers February 2016 Report

Top 3 sellers in February are all selling their own branded products. While Christmas season was very strong for traditional reseller-style Amazon retailers, so far 2016 has shown great results for sellers focused on designing and manufacturing their own products. Existing brands are launching on the Amazon marketplace and are very quickly finding the customers. As private labeling is heating up, more and more sellers are trying to grow their own brands as well.

Best Buy Is Closing Its US Marketplace

On February 24, 2016 Best Buy closed its US marketplace business. Best Buy first opened its marketplace in September 2011. There were about 100 marketplace sellers, which altogether contributed to less than 1% of sales.

Amazon Launches 7 New Fashion Brands

Without a big announcement Amazon has entered the Fashion business. Ed Yruma, managing director at KeyBanc Capital Markets reported yesterday that Amazon.com has launched over 1,800 different fashion products on its site, under seven different brand names it trademarked. Those brands are Franklin & Freeman, Franklin Tailored, James & Erin, Lark & Ro, North Eleven, Scout + Ro and Society New York.

Amazon vs eBay 2015 Q4 financial reports compared

Both Amazon and eBay recently announced their 2015 Q4 results. Since the fourth quarter has most of the key shopping events - Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas shopping - everyone was excited to see how well those companies did. Top eBay.com and eBay.co.uk sellers are now on Marketplace Pulse

In an announcement by Amazon earlier this month, it was revealed that Fulfillment by Amazon shipped more than 1 billion products for sellers worldwide. Furthermore, sellers using the FBA service grew more than 50 percent year-over-year. Amazon did not disclose the growth rate of other sellers, but we can only assume that overall FBA sellers do better than merchant fulfilled ones. Having access to Prime customers is a big push.

Fastest Growing Amazon.com Sellers, December 2015 Report

While November was somewhat of a slow month for a lot of retailers in the USA, December finished the year very strong. Christmas continues to be most important month of the year and this year was no different. No big surprise - a lot of Toy companies had their best month as parents looked for Christmas presents online.

Amazon has become the most important ecommerce website in India. Amazon.in is adding over 50,000 new products to the marketplace every day. This allowed Amazon to become the largest online store in India.
