Marketplace Pulse is an e-commerce intelligence firm helping businesses understand and grow in the e-commerce market via expertise marked by data. Our clients include marketplaces, financial technology (Fintech), software, and retail services companies. We work with companies behind-the-scenes of e-commerce, most often by providing data APIs.
We collect more data on e-commerce marketplaces than any organization in the world. We have developed a technology platform that monitors millions of data points on e-commerce marketplaces including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, Wish, etc. Our software parses unstructured and semi-structured data sources and programmatically extracts the key pieces of structured data we care about.
We look at marketplaces from all angles - we collect data on brands, products, categories, and sellers. We are interested in what is changing, how fast, and why, thus most of the data has years of history and is getting updated every day.
We believe that technology and data are better than opinions when it comes to understanding what’s next in e-commerce. Jim Barksdale, former CEO of Netscape said "If we have data, let's look at data. If all we have are opinions, let's go with mine." We instead say "If we have data, let's look at data. If all we have is opinions, let's go find data."
Recently we published the Marketplaces Year in Review 2018 report which showcases many of our capabilities. The report looks at the state of marketplaces and their challenges, and makes predictions on what’s to come next. It's a deep-dive report built on our research, highlighting more than twenty different metrics and the context surrounding them. This is our biggest and most comprehensive research report yet.
We compute, analyze and share data in research reports and articles. Journalists rely on our insights and data for their stories too. We work with leading magazines, newspapers, and online publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, CNBC, Reuters, Fortune magazine, and The Atlantic.
