Fastest Growing Amazon.com Sellers March 2016 Report

Out of nowhere came Wildcat Electronics and managed to jump from being a new seller to having solid sales in just a month. Look at that 3500% growth! On the other end of the spectrum Avalanche Brands saw a decrease in sales of -18%, a substantial change in performance considering they are consistently one of the TOP 3 sellers overall. However they are not alone - River Colony Trading (previously known as ToysNGamesEtc) also suffered a -20% slow down. Both Avalanche Brands and River Colony Trading are some of the oldest, biggest and most established sellers on the Amazon.com marketplace.

Juvolicious rebrands as Juvo+ and launches a new company website

One of the TOP 50 Amazon.com marketplace sellers changed their name from Juvolicious to Juvo+ on April 4th. As a fairly successful and growing seller they are trying to jump to the next level and join the biggest retailers like Avalanche Brands and etailz. They all have very similar product offerings, though Juvo+ is stronger in private labeling offering unique products.

One of the largest Amazon.com sellers ToysNGamesEtc have changed their name to River Colony Trading on March 31st 2016. ToysNGamesEtc is one of the oldest and best known sellers in the Amazon.com marketplace. As the name suggests they started selling Toys first, but by now have branched in practically every department on Amazon.

We only just launched Ebay analysis, but we are ready to start analyzing the growth of all sellers in the marketplace. What surprised us is how many of the top sellers are not based in the USA. China and India both look very strong in the list, offering great selection and prices to buyers thousands of miles away. Top 3 sellers in February are all selling their own branded products. While Christmas season was very strong for traditional reseller-style Amazon retailers, so far 2016 has shown great results for sellers focused on designing and manufacturing their own products. Existing brands are launching on the Amazon marketplace and are very quickly finding the customers. As private labeling is heating up, more and more sellers are trying to grow their own brands as well.

On February 24, 2016 Best Buy closed its US marketplace business. Best Buy first opened its marketplace in September 2011. There were about 100 marketplace sellers, which altogether contributed to less than 1% of sales.

Amazon Launches 7 New Fashion Brands

Without a big announcement Amazon has entered the Fashion business. Ed Yruma, managing director at KeyBanc Capital Markets reported yesterday that Amazon.com has launched over 1,800 different fashion products on its site, under seven different brand names it trademarked. Those brands are Franklin & Freeman, Franklin Tailored, James & Erin, Lark & Ro, North Eleven, Scout + Ro and Society New York.
