Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) delivered more than 1 billion products worldwide in 2015

In an announcement by Amazon earlier this month, it was revealed that Fulfillment by Amazon shipped more than 1 billion products for sellers worldwide. Furthermore, sellers using the FBA service grew more than 50 percent year-over-year. Amazon did not disclose the growth rate of other sellers, but we can only assume that overall FBA sellers do better than merchant fulfilled ones. Having access to Prime customers is a big push.

“2015 was a big year for sellers on Amazon. In fact, sellers added more new selection and shipped more items than in any previous year. We’re excited to build on that momentum as we continue to innovate on behalf of sellers and customers.” said Peter Faricy, VP for Amazon Marketplace

Cross-border sellers using FBA grew more than 100 percent year-over-year. This coincides with the recently revealed news that Amazon has been approved to operate as an ocean freight forwarded. We expect USA sellers gaining access to fulfilled orders in Amazon China sometime this year.
