eBay Shipping Supplies is a unique seller. It’s not really a separate seller - this is eBay selling eBay branded packaging for sellers. Recently eBay is trying to compete with Amazon by increasing their brand awareness, and one of the ways is by offering sellers credits to buy packaging supplies. Since almost all Amazon sales come in a box with Prime marketing, eBay wants a similar effect.

eBay announced this in April by saying “Many of our sellers told us that they wanted to purchase eBay branded shipping supplies online and we wanted to provide them with more choices. The eBay Shipping Supplies store will be operated by a third-party fulfillment partner with a license to use the eBay trademark.”. Here is the result eBay Shipping Supplies.

The fastest growing seller in May was ProMax Supply selling home improvement and various other tools. Like many sellers in that department it’s an established business with 12 shipping locations utilizing eBay as one of the retail outlets.

There is a lot of volatility on eBay with sellers gaining momentum and loosing all of it in a span of a few months. The Stamp Professor was the fastest growing seller in April, but since then has shrunk considerably. Or silver_organisation, a Jewelry and Watches seller from India we featured in the February report, which saw almost 100% decline in sales this month.

Just like in the April report top 3 sellers are based in the US. eBay is one of the most internationally diverse marketplaces, so we often find that the fastest growing sellers list has many sellers from China, Japan and beyond. For this reason we allow filtering eBay sellers to only show USA based sellers.

We used feedback growth as a method to estimate how much a seller has been able to grow their sales. Feedback growth is calculated by comparing feedback ratings amount on May 1st and May 31st. The table below is top 100 sellers ranked by the growth rate.
