September was a big month for books sellers, as just like the month before many customers were shopping for books for school. Focused on mostly used books Firehouse Liquidation was the fastest growing seller.

However Ecolife Technologies looked the most interesting to us. They joined the Amazon marketplace just a few months ago, but were able to grow quickly by offering a very unique product - their own made replacement water filters for various appliances. By offering a better price than original parts would cost they were able to capture the traffic of customers looking for them.

Amazon.com is one of the most visited websites, and a lot of those visitors are searching instead of going for a particular product. Being able to offer a better or more affordable alternative to existing products is a guaranteed way to grow.

We were surprised to see many top sellers shrink this month. Sellers like Pharmapacks slowed down by -20%, etailz by -13% and many more of the top 100 sellers failed to grow in September. For a lot of these sellers October, November and December are key months and will yield most of their sales for the year so we expect some big numbers in the next months.

We used feedback growth as a method to estimate how much a seller has been able to grow their sales. Feedback growth is calculated by comparing feedback ratings amount on September 1st and September 30th. The table below is top 100 sellers ranked by the growth rate.
