Mercado Libre (Mercado Livre in Portuguese) is an Argentine online marketplace dedicated to e-commerce and online auctions. It is Latin America's most popular e-commerce site by number of visitors.

Mercado Libre was launched in August 1999 in Argentina and rapidly expanded to Brazil, Mexico and other South American countries. Marcos Galperin, current CEO, began the company while still in business school at Stanford University.

Mercado Libre runs Mercado Pago, a safety payment system. Payments processed in 2016 Q3 it surpassed MercadoLibre marketplace sales.

They run 19 marketplaces in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama, Portugal, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Salvador.
