Amazon launched in Brazil in Dec 2012, by opening a Kindle store. Then in August 2014 they also started selling print books. Brazil is the largest market in Latin-America. MercadoLibre is the market leader in Brazil.

In April 2017 marketplace was opened for third-party sellers. But it still only allows books to be sold. In October 2017 marketplace added Electronics category.

3,576 new sellers this year

So far this year 3,576 sellers joined the Amazon.com.br marketplace. This equals to 20 new sellers every day. During the last month alone 565 new sellers joined. However this is less than on other months this year.

5,850 sellers have products listed for sale

There are 5,850 sellers with products listed for sale. Although not all of them will have sales, as many are not price competitive. That's why only 483 sellers received a feedback review in a month. However during past 12 months 1,665 sellers received at least one feedback review. These three figures combined illustrate the size of the active sellers pool of the marketplace.

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is used by 0% of the top sellers. Thanks to FBA many of the sellers on Amazon.com.br marketplace are not based in Brazil, as it enables international sellers to offer the same two-day shipping guarantee.
